Update: I'm back from getting my groceries. Thought I'd post of pic of what I got too! I knew the Dillon's ad was awesome this week! I walked out of the store with 6 bags of Green Giant Steamers for free! I also got all my Chex Mix and Cheerios Snack mixes free. The Totino's Pizza Rolls were $1 each! Kleenex were 75 cents each and if you know my family you know we go through Kleenex!
Do I post my pictures on here to brag? No! I do this because you can do it too! I believe that the Lord has given me some much needed help in this area of grocery shopping and I want to give Him the glory. He knew I needed to save some money somewhere and through the help of one of my friends He's showed me how to coupon shop. Now I have so much food I don't know what to do with it! So, I've made a decision to sit down tonight after church and start writing out menus from what I have in stock. I have a goal to get at least 3-4 weeks worth of menus written using only what I have on hand.
Here's the break down of todays shopping trip:

My total before coupons: $157.12

My total after coupons: $74.73

Percentage of savings: 53%

It's a new day. I took the boys to school, came home, got Emalee dressed and fed. I'm getting ready to do my grocery shopping before they run out of Green Giant veggies (I can get several of them for free). When I get back I plan on doing some baking. I was inspired by http://www.moneysavingmom.com/ to get some cooking done so I think I'll just start with tonight's supper and go from there. The meatballs on her site look scrumptious...maybe I'll make a batch of them too.
I'm excited about this weekend. It's our annual Deacon/Elder retreat in Branson. Should be a fun, tired, thought provoking time for all of us. The best part........(drum roll)....NO KIDS!!!
Another thing I'm excited about is making my first batch of homemade laundery soap. I'll give it a try for awhile and see if I like it, if I do I'll post the recipe on here. I've been told that the soap costs about 25 cents per gallon. I can't even imagine paying pennies for my laundry soap! I really hope I like it!
Well, I'm off to get my bargains at Dillons. They're having a great sale this week and I have tons of coupons that match! I'm taking my calculator with me today along with my list to add up my total as I go. I have a weekly budget and need to stick to it today! I'll post my percentage saved when I return...
